Julia Meyerowitz-Katz Psychotherapy

My Perspective

I work with adults who are experiencing difficulties in getting on with their lives in a positive optimistic way. Causes are varied and can be due to traumatic life events, including immigration, fertility issues, miscarriage and peri-natal loss, as well as chronic physical and mental illness, eating disorders, self-harm, depression and low self-esteem as well as Asperger’s Syndrome.

I offer art psychotherapy to children and adolescents with a wide range of presenting problems including behavioural and social problems, eating disorders, self-harm, communication difficulties, low self-esteem, depression, physical illness, developmental delay, emotional and psychological difficulties associated with specific learning problems (eg dyslexia), Asperger’s Syndrome.

My work is informed by psychodynamic, psychoanalytic theory and, as I am currently undergoing a Jungian training with the Australian and New Zealand Society of Jungian Analysts (ANZSJA), by Jungian and post-Jungian depth psychology. I work with adults, adolescents and children in individual art psychotherapy sessions as well as in groups. I offer supervision to therapists and other professionals, individually and in groups.
